Yosemite Valley

Story

A valley opens between tall rock cliffs, with a river winding past wooded banks where a deer stands quietly. Soft greens, earthy browns, and pale blues fill the scene, suggesting calm daylight across the terrain. This oil painting, titled Yosemite Valley, was created in 1865 by Albert Bierstadt (1830–1902), a German-American painter associated with the Hudson River school, now held in The Hyde Collection.
