Story

Bare trees frame a misty blue valley, their branches touching yellow-green foliage scattered through the scene. The drawing is rendered in pastel and chalk on paper. It comes from an edition numbered 23/50, taken from a book of Arthur Bowen Davies landscapes. Davies, born 1862 and died 1928, was an American artist associated with the Ashcan School, also known for the work Theatrical Scene, and worked as a painter, draftsperson, and lithographer.
