Chrysanthemums

Story

A thick cluster of chrysanthemum blooms fills the canvas in shades of yellow, pink, white, and red, set against a backdrop of blue and purple. The crowded petals create a rich tapestry of color with barely any space between them. This oil painting was created in 1897 by Claude Monet (1840–1926), a French painter associated with Impressionism, known also for Haystacks.
