Story

A rounded haystack dominates a field washed in yellow-green tones, set against a line of trees under a soft, hazy sky. The scene is rendered in oil, painted in 1893 by Claude Monet (1840–1926), a French artist associated with Impressionism. The piece entered its collection through the James Philip Gray Collection, and it reflects the artist's broader interest in grainstacks as a subject.
