Water Lilies

Story

A quiet pond fills the composition, its surface scattered with floating lily pads and blossoms rendered in greens, blues, purples, and yellows. The water seems to stretch across the whole scene, broken only by patches of color where flowers rest among the leaves. Painted by Claude Monet, a French artist who lived from 1840 to 1926, the work reflects his association with Impressionism, the movement that shaped much of his approach to light and color on canvas.

Where it works

Cool-toned artwork suited to living rooms and hallways, and to hotel guest rooms, in a vertical format.
