Story
Steep cliffs rise above a lush valley where a waterfall drops through mist and a double rainbow arcs across the stormy sky. Palm trees cluster near the slopes, and small figures stand on a hillside taking in the scene below. This oil painting was created in 1866 by Frederic Edwin Church (1826–1900), an American painter associated with the Hudson River school.
