Story
A series of rings nests one inside another, moving through white, black, yellow, pink, and blue, set against a deep rust-red field. The circles share a center, giving the composition a quiet, radiating balance. This oil work was made in 1915 by Hilma af Klint (1862–1944), a Swedish painter whose practice belongs to abstract art, part of her larger Group IX/SUW series centered on the swan motif.
