Story
Five tall panels rise together, each filled with stylized towers, bridges, and urban machinery rendered in blues, greens, oranges, and whites, suggesting the pulse of a modern metropolis. The composition is painted in oil and tempera on canvas, completed in 1920. Joseph Stella, an Italian-American artist associated with Futurism and Precisionism, created this work, now held at the Newark Museum.
