Story
A tall, bordered field of rust, pink, and gray geometric shapes stacks vertically, forming an abstract composition with a quiet, structured rhythm. The piece is a gouache on paper, laid down, created in 1939 by Paul Klee, a German-Swiss artist associated with the Bauhaus and with Expressionism. It entered the Columbus Museum of Art as a gift from supporters of the museum's collection.
Where it works
