Story

A crowded lot surrounds a neighborhood service station, filled with vintage cars and trucks in bright colors, figures moving between them, and rows of brick buildings standing beneath an open blue sky. The scene is rendered in oil, completed in 1968. The artist, Ralph Fasanella (1914–1997), was an American painter and trade unionist, also known for his work Subway Riders.
