Story

A sprawling mill complex fills the scene, packed with laboring figures and rows of machinery beside a waterfront, all painted in bright greens, pinks, and blues that give the industrial setting an almost festive energy. The piece is an oil painting completed in 1976. Ralph Fasanella (1914–1997), an American painter and trade unionist, made work rooted in labor life. It comes courtesy of Andrew Edlin Gallery.
