Adam, 1507

Story

A bare-skinned man with curling blond hair stands before a shadowed backdrop, cradling fruit and leafy branches in his hands. His pose is calm and upright, isolated against the dark setting with no other figures present. The piece was painted in oil on panel in 1507 by Albrecht Dürer (1471–1528), a German artist whose work belongs to the German Renaissance, also known for Adam and Eve.
