Story
A slender young tree with thin, scattered leaves rises from waterlogged ground, a lone figure standing nearby, all captured in warm sepia tones against a grainy backdrop. The image, titled Spring Showers, was made in 1900. Alfred Stieglitz (1864–1946), an American photographer associated with the Photo-Secession and with straight photography, also worked as a gallerist and exhibition curator.
