Story

A broad field of golden yellow fills the center, framed by dark blue and gray forms that curve inward along the edges. The shapes press softly against the glowing middle, giving the whole surface a sense of enclosure. This is an oil on canvas mounted on hardboard, painted in 1934 by Augustus Vincent Tack (1870–1949), an American painter. The piece belongs to The Phillips Collection.
