Still Life with Peppers

Story

A bottle stands near a bowl holding vegetables and scattered peppers, all set on a white tablecloth that catches light against a mottled purple backdrop. The composition stays close and simple, letting the kitchen objects dominate the modest table setting. Painted in oil in 1899, the work belongs to Camille Pissarro, an artist associated with Impressionism and Neo-impressionism. He was French-Jewish, and the painting is held at the Dallas Museum of Art.

Where it works

Cool-toned artwork suited to dining rooms and kitchens, and to restaurants, in a horizontal format.
