Story
White farm structures with dark roofs sit against a blue sky and green fields, broken into overlapping rectangular shapes that flatten the whole scene into geometric order. The piece, titled Bucolic Landscape #2, was made in tempera on board in 1958 by Charles Sheeler (1883–1965), an American artist associated with Precisionism. It entered the New Britain Museum of American Art through the Charles F. Smith Fund.
