Story

A quiet river scene opens onto a far-off town, its church spire rising above gentle hills, while water and greenery spread out in soft blues, greens, and earthy browns. This view of Vetheuil reflects a late-day calm along the shoreline. Claude Monet, a French painter and graphic artist, created this work within the Impressionism movement, known also for Haystacks among his notable works.
