Story
A quiet pond fills the composition, its surface scattered with lily pads and flowering plants, rendered through soft strokes of blue, green, yellow, and white that blend together into a hazy reflection of light on water. The piece, titled Nympheas, was made in 1916 by Claude Monet, a French painter and graphic artist. It belongs to the Impressionism movement and is held at the Beyeler Foundation.
