Story

White sailboats drift on blue water, their forms mirrored in rippling reflections. Along the shoreline, red-roofed buildings sit among green trees, giving the scene a quiet, sunlit calm. This oil painting was created in 1872 by Claude Monet, a French painter and graphic artist associated with Impressionism. The work is held at the Musée d'Orsay.
