Story

A hazy riverside skyline emerges through thick mist, the parliamentary towers appearing as dark shapes against a glowing sky streaked with lavender, blue, rose, and gold tones where sunlight pushes through the haze. This oil on canvas was completed in 1904 by Claude Monet, a French painter (1840–1926) associated with Impressionism, whose other notable works include Garden at Sainte-Adresse and Haystacks. The piece belongs to the Musée d'Orsay.
