Story
A quiet countryside scene unfolds with a church rising in the distance, poplar trees lining the view, green fields spreading out, and a winding path crossing beneath a pale sky. The painting was made in oil in 1886. It reflects the Impressionist approach of the French painter Claude Monet (1840–1926), also known for Haystacks. The piece now belongs to the Chrysler Museum of Art, having come to the collection as a gift.
