Story
Rolling waves crest in white foam along a sandy shoreline, with tufts of beach grass bending in the foreground and birds skimming low beneath a clouded sky rendered in blues, greens, and sandy hues. Frank V. Dudley painted this oil on canvas titled Harbingers of the Storm in 1935. The American landscape painter's work entered the Indiana State Museum through the Governor's Contingency Fund.
