Story

A tiny boat drifts across dark water beneath a looming mountain, while bands of green and red light sweep across the night sky above. The glowing display dominates the composition, dwarfing the small vessel below. This piece is called Aurora Borealis, created by Frederic Edwin Church (1826–1900), an American painter associated with the Hudson River school.
