Story
A castle rises behind walls draped in ivy, framed by a quiet meadow and a hazy stretch of land beyond, all painted in layered greens, blues, and ochre. The composition dates to 1909, part of Gustav Klimt's work from that period. Klimt, an Austrian artist tied to Art Nouveau, Jugendstil, and Symbolism, also created Adele Bloch-Bauer II.
Where it works
Cool-toned artwork suited to living rooms and dining rooms, and to hotel guest rooms, in a vertical format.
