Story
Squares of red, blue, yellow, and pink float across a soft beige field, joined by rounded shapes and flowering motifs that give the geometric arrangement a decorative, almost organic rhythm. The composition belongs to a series marking old age, part of a numbered group of large-scale works. Made in tempera on paper mounted on canvas in 1907, it comes from Hilma af Klint (1862–1944), a Swedish painter whose work became associated with abstract art.
