Story

A girl in a dress stands before an oversized dodo, which rests on a cane, while a cluster of odd, storybook creatures gathers close by in a black ink scene. The piece is an engraving made in 1865, illustrating a scene from Lewis Carroll's 'Alice's Adventures in Wonderland'. It was created by John Tenniel (1820–1914), a British caricaturist and graphic artist also known for 'Dropping the Pilot'.
