Story

A fair-haired child in a blue frock finds herself seated amid an odd gathering of animals and fantastical figures, all crowded together as if awaiting some verdict. The scene captures a moment of chaos and curiosity, rendered as a colour litho illustration from 'Alice in Wonderland' by Lewis Carroll. The image was created by John Tenniel, a British caricaturist and graphic artist who lived from 1820 to 1914 and also produced Dropping the Pilot.
