Story

A hazy mountain scene unfolds with a pale blue summit mirrored in soft golden water, small boats resting near the shore, and birds drifting through a misty sky. The piece is rendered in watercolour on paper, created in 1842. Joseph Mallord William Turner (1775–1851), a British artist associated with Romanticism and English painting, captured this atmospheric view with delicate washes of light and color.
