Story

A hillside gathering unfolds under blossoming cherry trees, where people in traditional dress stroll near buildings and a stretch of water, with Mount Fuji rising faintly in the distance. This scene appears in a color woodblock print made in 1830 by Katsushika Hokusai (1760–1849), a Japanese artist. His work belongs to the ukiyo-e tradition and the Kasei culture, and later influenced Japonisme abroad.
