A Color of His Own

Story

Overlapping squares in a range of pastel colors fill the composition, their edges stacked and layered across the surface. Scattered throughout, in various colors, is handwritten text reading "les lionni" repeated many times, woven into the pattern of shapes. The piece is titled A Color of His Own, made by Leo Lionni, who lived from 1910 to 1999. Lionni worked as a children's writer, designer, and graphic artist, holding American and Italian citizenship.

Where it works

Pastel artwork suited to kids' rooms and bedrooms, and to restaurants, in a horizontal format.
