Story
A tiny inchworm makes its way up through tall blades of grass, surrounded by slender plants topped with brown seed pods, all set against a plain white backdrop. The scene has the simple, graphic clarity typical of illustration from 1960. Leo Lionni (1910–1999) was an American and Italian children's writer, designer, and graphic artist whose work includes the picture book Inch by Inch.
Where it works
