Story
Buildings line a snowy Boston street, their forms softened under a blanket of white. Small figures move along the sidewalks, while bare trees stretch upward in muted browns, whites, and greens, giving the scene a quiet, wintry stillness. This oil painting dates from 1907 and was made by Maurice Brazil Prendergast (1858–1924), an American painter associated with the Ashcan School and Post-impressionism.
