Story
Layered rectangles and a single circle sit together in soft beige, tan, and green, their edges overlapping across a surface with visible texture. The forms suggest a quiet architectural structure built from flat, abstract shapes rather than any recognizable scene. Paul Klee made this piece using oil-transfer drawing and watercolor on paper mounted on board in 1922. Klee (1879–1940) was a German-Swiss artist associated with the Bauhaus and with Expressionism.
