Story

A pale yellow house with Victorian trim sits atop a grassy slope, a sandy trail curving nearby under a soft blue sky. The scene is rendered in oil on panel, completed in 1893. American painter William Merritt Chase (1849–1916) made this piece in the Impressionist movement, known also for his Still Life with Watermelon. It is held today at the San Diego Museum of Art.
