Neo-Impressionism

These coastal and open-country scenes break light and color into small, deliberate touches, so skies and water seem to shimmer rather than sit still. Harbors, dunes, fields and a moonlit sky all appear in soft blues, violets and warm yellows, with calm, unpeopled compositions. "Waldwiese" shows the same quiet attention to a sunlit clearing.
