Born in Indonesia, Nico grew up exploring the bustling streets of Jakarta, the rural landscapes of Java Island, and later the contrasting fresh air and natural beauty of Seattle. As a teenager, he found inspiration in the works of Salvador Dalí, the renowned Indonesian artist and cartoonist Mr. Tino Sidin, and a wide range of international design publications, all of which helped shape his early artistic development.
Driven by a passion for art and design, Nico immigrated to the United States, where he studied graphic design and fine art in Seattle and later at the ArtCenter College of Design in Pasadena, California. Today, he lives and works in Seattle, maintaining an active practice in both art and design. In addition to exhibiting in galleries and serving as a guest speaker for various art and design courses, Nico's work is held in numerous private collections throughout the United States, Australia, and Asia. His paintings and digital murals are also featured throughout Amazon’s headquarters campus in Seattle’s South Lake Union district.
In 2021, Nico founded The Spice Art Club, an art mentorship program dedicated to transforming self-doubt into confidence through creative practice. The club provides a supportive environment where like-minded artists can learn, grow, and inspire one another through art.
