Half Dome: Yosemite

Story

Half Dome rises in the distance, its granite face catching light while a river winds through a meadow bordered by trees in autumn color. Warm golds and rusts along the ground contrast with cooler blues and grays in the sky and rock, giving the scene depth. The painting is the work of Albert Bierstadt (1830–1902), a German-American artist associated with the Hudson River school.

Where it works

Warm-toned artwork suited to living rooms and bedrooms, and to hotel guest rooms, in a horizontal format.
