Story

A winged figure with curled hair stands plucking at a lute, rendered against a pale brown paper surface. The angel's drapery falls in soft folds around its body, and its wings extend behind its shoulders as it concentrates on the instrument. The piece was made in pen and ink in 1491 by Albrecht Dürer (1471–1528), a German artist associated with the German Renaissance.
