Story
A nude female figure stands alone before a deep black backdrop, her bare skin rendered in warm, glowing tones that stand out sharply against the darkness. She holds a leafy branch bearing an apple in one hand and grips a fig leaf in the other. This painting was made in oil on panel in 1507 by Albrecht Dürer (1471–1528), a German artist associated with the German Renaissance.
