Story
Rings of small, mosaic-like tiles spread outward from a central point, moving through red, pink, purple, blue, yellow, green, and light green. The pattern builds in concentric bands, each ring shifting hue as it expands across the surface. This acrylic composition was made in 1971 by Alma Thomas (1891–1978), an American artist associated with Color Field painting, the Washington Color School, and abstract expressionism.
