Story

Two round celestial charts show the northern sky and northern lands side by side, filled with mythological figures and cherubs weaving among zodiac symbols. The palette moves through red, blue, gold, and gray, giving the spheres a decorative richness beyond simple reference diagrams. This is a hand coloured engraving made in 1660, plate 25 from Harmonia Macrocosmica, by Andreas Cellarius (1596–1665), a Dutch-German astronomer, cartographer, and geographer.
