Story

Geometric shapes mingle with stylized figures and winding, snake-like lines across a pale backdrop, rendered in warm golds, soft rose, violet, and cool blue hues. The composition, called Blue World, was made in 1934 using oil mixed with sand on canvas. It entered the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum through its founding collection.
