Story

A quiet stretch of water winds past leafy trees and scattered buildings, with small figures moving along the banks under a palette of soft browns and greens. This oil painting was made in 1890 by Charles Conder, an Australian artist. He later worked in the United Kingdom and is also known for A holiday at Mentone. The work is held at the Art Gallery of New South Wales.
