Springtime Vision

Story

A sloping hillside, dotted with thin trees and low plants, rises above a stretch of blue-green water beneath a soft, pale sky, rendered in a mix of greens, blues, and earthy browns. This oil painting, titled Springtime Vision, was made in 1900 by Childe Hassam (1859–1935), an American painter and printmaker associated with Impressionism. The work entered its collection through the bequest of Ruth P. Phillips.
