Story
A quiet village lane unfolds beneath a church topped with a tall, pointed spire, its stone houses rendered in soft blues, warm browns, and earthy tones. Light falls gently across the walls and the roadway, giving the whole scene a hazy, open-air feel. The piece was made in oil in 1885 by Claude Monet, a French painter associated with Impressionism, whose notable work includes Impression, Sunrise.
