Story

A rugged stone archway juts into the sea beneath a glowing evening sky, with water rendered in soft greens and a few sailboats drifting in the distance. The scene captures the coastline bathed in golden light as the sun sinks low. Painted in 1883 by Claude Monet (1840–1926), the work reflects his place within Impressionism and his French background.
