Story

Rows of yellow blossoms spread across a sunlit meadow, their stems and leaves rendered in soft blue-green hues, leading the eye toward a line of trees along the horizon beneath a muted, pale sky. This oil on canvas, painted in 1887, captures the open landscape with loose, textured brushwork. Claude Monet (1840–1926), a French painter associated with Impressionism, created the piece, now held at the Musée Marmottan Monet.
