Story
A single cone-shaped mound of harvested grain stands wrapped in soft mist, its form rendered in muted beige, brown, and purple hues beneath a sun barely visible through the haze. Claude Monet painted this scene in oil in 1891, capturing the shifting atmosphere with careful attention to light. The piece reflects Impressionism, the French movement with which Monet, born in 1840 and died in 1926, is closely associated. The painting entered the museum's collection as a gift.
