Story

A grand hotel rises beside a seaside walkway, its flagpoles catching the breeze while small figures stroll along the promenade beneath a sky filled with blue and drifting white clouds. The scene is rendered in oil, painted in 1870. Claude Monet (1840–1926), a French painter associated with Impressionism, created this work, now held at the Musée d'Orsay.
