Haystacks

Story

Two large stacks of hay rise against a soft, pale sky, their surfaces touched with purple, brown, and gold tones that shift with the light. Distant trees line the horizon, framing the scene in quiet stillness. The arrangement draws attention to texture and color rather than detail. Claude Monet, a French painter and graphic artist (1840–1926), worked within Impressionism, and this piece belongs to his Haystacks group, alongside works like Impression, Sunrise.

Where it works

Warm-toned artwork suited to living rooms and bedrooms, and to hotel guest rooms, in a horizontal format.
